ONCE YOU HAVE SEEN THE CHILD

Once you have seen the Child,
You will never be quite the same.
Once you have journeyed to Bethlehem town
Your heart will want to remain.
Once you have knelt in the straw
With shepherds and kings by your side,
Life will never be quite like it was before
Once you have seen the Child.
Once you see the newborn Child,
You will know God has come here to dwell.
Once you behold that remarkable face,
You will whisper "Emanuel."
Once you have heard angels sing,
There is nothing on earth to compare.
Life will never be quite like it was before
Once you have seen the child.
Once you have come to the manger,
The watching and waiting are done.
The promise comes true in the manger
In God's only begotten Son.
Once you have seen the Child,
You will know the story is true,
Once you have followed that single bright star,
Its light will shine on in you.
Once you have offered your heart,
Like the kings and the shepherds who came,
Life will never be quite like it was before.
Once you have seen the Child.
