Jesus went out on a journey,
(Out on the road, out on the road)
A man came up and knelt down before him,
(Out on the road, out on the road)
He said, "Good teacher, how can I gain eternal life?"
Then Jesus said:
"Why do you call me good? No one but God is good!
Have you kept all the commandments?
Do not kill, do not steal, no adultery,
Do not lie, do not cheak, honor your father and mother."
He said, "I have done all these things since the days of my youth."
Then Jesus looked upon him and loved him.
Jesus loved him, and he said to him:
"One thing only are you lacking:
(Just one thing, just one thing)
Sell all you have and give to the poor,
And you shall have treasure, treasure in heaven.
But he was sad, and he went on his way,
(Out on the road, out on the road)
For he was very . . . rich.
