The music program takes very seriously the goals that Holy Trinity has committed to, especially our relational covenant, which encourages us to treat each other in a kind and loving manner, day by day and moment by moment, no matter how old or young we are:
Relational Covenant:
We will be intentional in our respect for each other and celebrate our differences as we week to live as a diverse, inclusive community in Christ.
I promise to be aware of who I am as a human being, my limitations and flaws, burdens and gifts; and to acknowledge the humanness of others.
I promise to view myself and others as children of God, and therefore I will treat others as equally valued by God.
I promise to give and receive feedback in a constructive and loving manner.
I promise to utilize opportunities to transform negative situations and become a constructive instrument in the process of restoring healthy community.
Our Vision:
Everyone in ministry - united in God's love.
Our Mission Statement:
We are an inclusive and reconciling* Christian congregation, growing in our discipleship with Jesus Christ. We aspire to love God, our neighbors, and ourselves. We welcome all people to participate in the life and ministries of this church. We care for and support one another. We reach out to our brothers and sisters near and far.
* Reconciling Congregations warmly welcome all people of faith, whatever their racial, ethnic or cultural background or sexual orientation. For more information about the Reconciling Ministries Network, see www.rmnetwork.org
Our Goals for a Five-Year Strategic Plan:
Holy Trinity is a vital and growing congregation. It has a long history of strong programs of worship, music, Christian education, youth ministry and outreach. Our goals are intended to affirm and expand these ministries as we grow in our love for God, neighbor and self.
Love GOD
I. Reach out and invite people in the millennial (born 1982-2001) and survivors (born 1961-1981) generations to experience the love of God. Specific suggestions:
- Develop a second, non-traditional worship experience.
- Form outside-the-church Bible study groups.
- Attract and engage part-time staff.
II. As we continue to grow, further develop the process of welcoming, incorporating and supporting each person into the life of the congregation. Help all members to identify and engage their gifts in ministry and mission.
Love NEIGHBOR
III. Discover effective programs to engage and care for the youth of our community, especially those at risk from drug/alcohol abuse and other hazards.
IV. Implement programs for the elderly. Specific suggestions:
- Create a phone service which calls people regularly to check on their safety and welfare.
- Offer ridership service for those who can't easily drive.
- Arrange for a community wide free blood pressure clinic once a month.
- Expand our Good Shepherds visitation program and reach out to members who are unable to attend church.
- Adopt-a-grandparent.
Love SELF
V. As we seek to live as a diverse, inclusive community in Christ, we will be intentional in our respect for each other and celebrate our differences. Specific suggestions:
- Develop a Relational Covenant (guidelines for how we treat each other).
- Train ourselves to give and receive feedback in a constructive and loving manner.
- Create opportunities to learn communications and conflict management skills.
VI. Form a committee to promote and carry out a capital
campaign (See Capital Campaign Case Statement and Capital Campaign Website)
- Our commitment to the New England Annual Conference’s “Together for Tomorrow” campaign.
- Capital improvements to the church building.
- Funding of pastors housing.
